Kevin and Jackie's Wedding
The wedding party.
This weekend we went to Vernon New Jersey to attend Kevin and Jackie's wedding, it was a beautiful day and a very elegant affair!
Virginia, Claire and Josh
Claire and Sean were in town from California, so it was a nice opportunity to visit with them, and also great to get together with the rest of the work crew in our fancy digs.
We got a nice picture of Felipe and I in the Garden of the country club where the reception was held.
The evening was fun, the dinner was good, and the company as always engaging! And we had a lot of fun dancing!
A very elegant centerpiece.

Wishing I Could Be There Now....
Near Barceloneta Beach and the Olympic Village.
Felipe is returning today from a Business trip in London, and I am looking forward to the long weekend with him. But oh how I wish we could be in Europe right now! Sitting by the beach in Barcelona, walking through la Boqueria, eating some fantastic meal in Paris. I love it in the warmer weather (our last couple of trips were in the fall or very early spring - when it was much cooler and rainy).
At La Boqueria, so beautiful and yummy!!!
Shadows and Arches by the Rue de Rivoli in Paris.
We're traveling to Rio de Janiero for the holidays at the end of the year, and so we may not get to visit Europe again this year - and of course this makes me a little sad! I'll be scouring the travel sites looking for cheaper fares though!!!
I hope that you have something nice planned for the long holiday weekend (if you are living in the United States that is - sorry to anyone reading this who has only a regular weekend!). We'll be going to New Jersey for a wedding on Sunday, and hopefully having a picnic in the park so we can enjoy the weather, which is supposed to be great!

Goodnight Moon
Assistance Needed: Sick Plants!
I have two window boxes in our living room, each box has a different plant (I'm horrible and cannot remember the names), three plants per box. I noticed the other day that one of the three plants in window box #1 is sick. I'm posting pics of it's poor little diseased body hoping one of you can help and tell me what to do! Can I treat it? Should I remove the sick plant? Will removing the plant help the fungus spread? I am also afraid it will infect the other box, with a different type of plant, which right now is not showing any disease.
Help me if you can!

Scenes From the Weekend (or seens)
Martinis with Mike.
We've had a couple of lazy/busy weekends. You know the kind where you are busy because you are doing something each day with a different people, but lazy because you also have time to relax and recuperate from the week. So I guess it was a week ago last Saturday that we had dinner and drinks with our friend Mike (yes, I'm that behind). We had dinner at a little Brazilian restaurant in Hells Kitchen and then martinis across the street. I like the martinis better than the restaurant...
Henry Street.
Saturday night of this week we met a couple of Felipe's Spanish friends at a restaurant on the lower east side - a place called Broadway East. This pic is of the view looking towards Henry Street from East Broadway. It was a beautiful evening, the company was fun, and the food was good. I even got to practice my Spanish a bit (seriamente, solo un poco...).
Sheeps Meadow on a Sunday Afternoon.
Sunday was another wonderfully sunny day and a very comfortable mid-seventies temperature. We spent a bit of time in Central Park, which was full to the brim on account of the nice weather and the thousands of people from the 2010 AIDS Walk.
Overall, a nice couple of weekends... Alas, next weekend Felipe will be in London on business, and I'll have to find something fun to do on my own :D

Snapshots from the Past - A Walk Down Memory Lane
Taking a little walk down memory lane. It's my high school's ten year reunion this summer. I won't be able to go, as my visit home will be much earlier in the year, but I thought I would post a few of my old school class photos. This one above is Second Grade - 1989-1990 - Twenty years ago! Many of the people that I went to elementary school remained at the same school through high school graduation. Some moved away (I did - moving back after a couple of years), some stayed the whole thirteen years together, eventually graduating from James Madison Memorial.
Second grade was probably my favorite out of all of elementary school. We had an amazing teacher named Mrs. Davidson. She knew how to fly planes (and we got to see hers once)! and in general made class tons of fun. Mrs. Davidson taught us so many things, among one of the gems I remember - you shouldn't go outside without a jacket unless it's 16 degrees Celcius or more. This has come in handy many times now that I am married to a man who grew up with Celcius (if you could believe that being handy). It was her class too that I remember learning how many bones there are in the human body. So many nice memories. Two years after our class she retired and moved to California. I still think about her to this day, and hope she is doing well.

Wild Life...on a Calm Night
Yesterday was Jana and David's last night in town, we went for burger's and shakes at the Shake Shack, and then took a nice walk through the park. The weather was great, the perfect evening - sunny and warm, people jogging (while we were walking off all the yummy food)! We had such a nice visit with Jana and David, and hope that they enjoyed it just as much (I think so!).
The photo above I took in Central park of a red tailed hawk. It was chasing after a pigeon, but in the end did not catch his dinner. I was lucky to catch a shot of him staring at me (well...maybe not at me, but it sure looks like it!)

Visitors!
This picture was taken on the day that Jana and I inadvertently dressed in exactly the same clothes (seriously - the same exact shirt and everything!) back when we were in Criminal Justice together at UWEC.
We've been busy this past weekend with my friend Jana who has come to visit us with her husband David, coming all the way from Columbus Ohio! The weekend was spent walking a good portion of Manhattan and showing them all our favorite haunts around the city. Fortunately the weather has held out mostly well for them (with the exception of a bit of rain yesterday). We have one more night to hang out and have fun, and then tomorrow they head back.
I'll post a few photos of their visit this evening when I have a chance to sit at my computer.
