Brazil a Day #19

Brazil last day 2
Copacabana Beach

Our last day in Rio was a Saturday, we were flying out at 9pm that evening. I managed to convince Felipe, and Primitivo and Eda to go to Copacabana beach one last time (not exactly the time they would usually go - on a very busy saturday morning). It took some time to find a parking spot (Thank you to primitivo for dropping us off and continuing to look while we grabbed a spot on the beach).

Me soaking up as much last minute sun as possible!

Brazil a Day #18

Pao de acucar 10

Primitivo took a nice photo of Myself, Felipe, Ana and Sergi at the top. Just look at beautiful Copacabana beach and the wonderfully blue water. Wish I were there now :D

Brazil a Day #17

Pao de acucar 9

A view looking down Pão de Açúcar, with one of the cable cars. It's a short, but slow three minute ride from the bottom to the top of the first Morro, and another short but slow three minute ride to the top of the other Morro...and totally worth it for the wonderful view of the city.

It's hot, and all this is a nice view...I think I'll sit and enjoy it a little bit.

Brazil a Day #12

Brazil Paseo 14

Felipe and I overlooking Botafogo Bay. There was a wonderful view from the top floor of a small shopping center there. You can see, of course, Pão de Açúcar in the background.

A happy looking couple aren't they?

Brazil a Day #9

Brazil Paseo 11

There were cranes all around the beaches in Rio, I suppose I found them a little more beautiful than the common gray pigeons I'm used to seeing around the city ;)

Brazil a Day #8

Brazil Paseo 10

As the sun was setting, we decided we would wave it good bye. Pictured of course are the shadows of myself, Felipe, Ana, Sergi and Primitivo :)

Sometimes it wasn't just about the scenery, but who we were sharing it with :)

Brazil a Day #4

Brazil Paseo 5

Pao de acucar 3

Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer) statue on the hill. We tried to visit the statue one afternoon, but there were multiple hour delays in getting to the top of the hill, so we had to settle instead for seeing the "Big Guy" watch over the city, and us, from different vantage points through out the city.

Brazil a Day #2

Brazil Paseo 3

Brazil Paseo 2

Along Ipanema Beach, you can see the Calçada Portuguesa (Portuguese sidewalk that is all over the city). Ipanema and Copacabana have these wildly geometric patterns that you see repeated in fashion and design around the city quite often. It's an amazing accent to the city.

Brazil a Day #1

Brazil Paseo 1

In honor of the upcoming Carnival (and also a little because I'm about a month and half behind posting the last of my trip photos) I will be posting a photo, or two, a day to catch up. So each day I will post another photo from our trip until I run out, I hope you enjoy!
