Yesterday Felipe and I arrived in Madrid in the morning, and met with his friend Javi and his family. We had a mostly laid back day trying to adjust to the time change and the bit of jet lag (it's difficult to sleep on airplane....)
We went for dinner to a Moroccan/Middle Eastern restaurant we went to on our last trip, call Arabia.
The inside is nicely decorated and feels very intimate.
The menu is super nice, overall very affordable and has a lot of very tasty food.
We ordered a few appetizers first, including: zanahorias confitadas al comino (confit of carrots with cumin), puré de garbanzos al sésamo (a very yummy hummus), and ensalada con pan de pita tostada (a very good salad with crunchy toasted pita on top). They were all delicious!
(sorry the pics are a bit dark...the lighting was not ideal for photography!)
For our main, Felipe and I shared the cuscus de pollo con verduras y albóndigas (cous cous with chicken, vegetables and meatballs) - which is very good and is served with a broth to put on top of the cous cous. Overall a very good meal and very filling. The bill in the end was not that expensive either - very nice!
More to come about our time in Madrid, we don't have many super plans - just mainly walking around and enjoying the city.

The food looks wonderful. Remember all the best things because I would love to look up the recipes and cook them together when we see each other next!
